Despite the enemy remaining alive indefinitely, after 20 minutes of inactivity the player will stop attacking. As a consequence, interaction with the game is needed to continue splashing; otherwise, you will remain logged in without gaining any experience until a forced disconnection happens or the enemy stops attacking (typically due to other players' interference). Although usually simply moving the cursor over the client is enough to reset the logout timer, even when the window is inactive, in the case of splashing, having Auto Retaliate on and clicking somewhere on the client or pressing a key are needed.
